When we went into the first coronavirus lockdown, my focus shifted. Contemplative prayer was already underpinning my life, and I had also been making art as a way of processing what was happening in the world. But then contemplative prayer took over as that way of processing and connecting at a deep level with the world and its anguish.
I’d been writing material on my artist, writer, consultant blog about my prayer and spirituality, but was increasingly feeling that I wanted to write more, and that it didn’t sit right with the rest of the content there. I therefore started this new blog devoted to contemplative prayer and spiritual life, explorations in theology and Bible, and the like. I transferred over much of the relevant material.
But now things have shifted again. I find it impossible to drive a wedge between prayer and world. For example, the Attentiveness category on the artist, writer, consultant blog has always been a euphemism for prayer as engagement with creation, and much of my published and posted writing is on related subjects or at least has a theological underpinning. And the final straw… I’ve also started to write poetry seriously, which straddles anything and everything.
…All of which is a long-winded way of saying that I’m winding this website and blog down. I’ve moved a lot of the content back over to my other website. Some of the posts reflecting on Lectio Divina sessions remain here for the time being, as do the Downloads, but I plan to move it all in the not-too-distant future.
Thanks for reading! I hope you can find anything you’re looking for over at clarebryden.org.uk.
